DEFORMED TAIL??
Questions you may have about his tail!

-
We took an X-Ray of the hips and tail at the Veterinarian's office. The tail deformity is believed to be cosmetic only.
-
The X-Ray showed nice, good hips with deep sockets, so he is not likely to ever develop hip dysplasia.
-
Also his tail bones are fused strongly and not "wiggly or loose", which is good. Arthritis would be more likely to develop in a loosely jointed tail that wiggled around. His tail is strongly fused and strong. So this is good!
-
My vet offered his best guess about what happened. Because this was a large litter (8 kittens) he was squished and crowded. His tail was soft and developing when it got pushed and the bones were forming during that time. However, we will never know exactly what happened!
